Professional Experience
Merari joined RP&B as an intern in our Tax & Compliance department while she completes her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She previously earned her Associate’s degree in Business Administration from Chaffey College in 2024 and plans to pursue her CPA license after graduating in 2026.
At Cal Poly Pomona, Merari is actively involved in campus organizations and currently serves as the Director of Public Relations for the Beta Alpha Psi chapter, a role she has held since the summer of 2025. She also contributes as the newsletter coordinator for the business team of an engineering club, helping communicate updates and initiatives across the student organization.
Prior to joining RP&B, Merari has gained valuable professional experience across a variety of roles which have strengthened her communication, organizational, and service-oriented skills. She worked as a Spanish interpreter for Language Line Solutions, providing real-time interpretation while maintaining strict standards of confidentiality and accuracy. She also served as an in-home caregiver, supporting daily living activities and maintaining program compliance documentation. After that, she was a teacher’s assistant for transitional kindergarten within the Rialto Unified School District, where she supported classroom instruction and student engagement initiatives.
Most recently, Merari has worked as a payroll assistant for a construction company in San Bernardino County, where she assists with payroll processing, accounts receivable and accounts payable, and maintaining employee records. Through these experiences, she developed a strong attention to detail and a commitment to reliable, organized work—qualities she brings to her role at RP&B.
Merari was drawn to RP&B CPAs for the firm’s collaborative culture, commitment to professional growth, and reputation for maintaining a healthy work-life balance. She hopes to contribute to the team through her strong work ethic, proactive attitude, and eagerness to learn as she continues building her career in public accounting, with a growing interest in tax services.
Her interest in accounting first began during a visit to a family member in Colima, Mexico, who works as a supplier for a produce business in Texas. During this trip, Merari had the opportunity to observe the company’s accounting team in action, which sparked her curiosity about the profession and the important role accountants play in supporting business operations.

Personal Note
As an Inland Empire native, Merari earned the California State Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish while a high school student in Fontana. She currently volunteers with the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program, where she helps individuals and families prepare their tax returns.
Outside of work and school, Merari enjoys staying active by going to the gym, hiking, and walking along the beach. She is also a devoted fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Passionate about humanitarian work, she hopes to travel internationally in the future and would love to visit Africa as part of a UNICEF humanitarian program. One item already on her bucket list for this year: skydiving on her 22nd birthday.
