RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA – June 16, 2021 – Roorda, Piquet & Besse, Inc. (RP&B CPAs), a premier, full service accounting firm located in the Inland Empire has announced that Robert Bessee, CPA is retiring effective June 30, 2021. Bob will move to an emeritus role, supporting firm leadership, working with select clients and taking on special projects.
Robert Bessee remembers the day he interviewed with Jim Roorda and Rick Piquet in the old Security Bank building, downtown Riverside, December 1986 and being hired as the 2nd staff person. “Every day was a learning experience with my partners, our team over the years, along with our incredibly driven clients. From assisting clients with complex compliance requirements, to consulting engagements, and succession planning including ESOPs. Now with the newer management team and staff transitioning over the last few years, I am grateful that I had the opportunity to be a part in building a great foundation for the future of the firm.” Bob commented.
Bob’s contributions to RP&B have been significant and meaningful since the very beginning. Not only has he ensured a positive and enjoyable experience for our clients, but he has led the charge in ensuring RP&B’s culture pushes to do the same,” stated Michael Kouyoumdjian, Managing Shareholder of RP&B. “His passion to see the firm, their clients and staff succeed will definitely be missed, but we are confident in the path he has helped create for the firm and are excited to see what retirement brings for him.”
Bob is looking forward to retirement; he will have a chance to spend more time with his wife. Moving out of state is taking them closer to their two sons. With sailing and kayaking being his biggest interests, he will have many opportunities to enjoy the water with just a short walk from their new home.
